Hydrocodone Combination Products – Alert

October 3, 2014 Off By Jennifer West

If you are currently taking any medication that contains Hydrocodone, the rules for getting your prescriptions filled are changing effective 10/6/2014.

The DEA has issued its final rule rescheduling hydrocodone combination products (HCPs) as a controlled substance schedule II. What this means for you is that you must now pick up a paper prescription for any HCPs and physically take it to your pharmacy. It is likely that any refills you have on file at the pharmacy will no longer be honored after 10/6/2014.

What we are doing to assist you in this process:

– We will take requests for new prescriptions via the phone or your web portal account.
– We will have our patient service desk available for pick up of these paper prescriptions.
– We do ask for 48-72 hrs to provide your physician time to print and sign these prescriptions.
– Patients will be required to be seen by their physician every 3 months in order to receive a new prescription.
